A:
The proper way is to install the new small retaining clamp onto the neck of the inner seal, place the cage on the table large diameter side up, install the small retaining ring using J 8059 into the groove of the driveshaft bar, and then install 'the inner seal onto the D/O joint housing.

Q: What is the removal procedure for the wheel drive shaft inner joint and seal?
A:
The procedure is to place the driveshaft in a vise, remove the D/O joint housing in the following manner, remove the cage and the inner race assembly from the driveshaft bar, remove the balls, remove the inner race from the cage, and then remove the seal and discard.

A:
The proper way is to place the new small retaining clamp onto the outer seal, position the lip of the outer seal into the groove on the CN joint, and then install the inner seal.

Q: What is the removal procedure for the wheel drive shaft outer joint and seal?
A:
The procedure is to remove the inner seal, use a hand grinder to cut through the large retaining clamp located at the CN joint, use a hand grinder to cut through the small retaining clamp on the small end of the outer seal, and then remove the outer seal from the CN joint.
