The proper way is to install the lower intermediate shaft to the vehicle, install the lower intermediate shaft to the power steering gear input shaft pinch bolt, install the lower intermediate shaft to the upper intermediate shaft pinch bolt and plastic insert, and then unlock the steering column by removing the J 42640 from the steering column lower trim cover access hole.

A:
The procedure is to remove the tilt spring, remove the ignition switch and lock housing, remove the upper intermediate steering shaft, remove the lower shaft bearing assembly, remove the pivot pins using J 21854-01, remove the steering column housing assembly, and then remove the steering shaft assembly.
