Q: How to remove the Crankshaft Balancer?
A:
You should remove the cooling fan and shroud, the drive belt, install J 41816-2 into the end of the crankshaft, remove the crankshaft balancer, the 3 jaw puller, and the J 41816-2, and the crankshaft balancer shim from the crankshaft snout.

01/11/2022Q: How to install the Crankshaft Balancer?
A:
You should remove the torque converter access plug in the dry part of the oil pan, install a new crankshaft balancer shim GM P/N 12573950 over the crankshaft snout, against the crankshaft gear, the crankshaft balancer, remove the J 41478, the torque converter holding tool, install the torque converter access plug into the oil pan, the drive belt, and the cooling fan and shroud.
