FAQ for Valve Cover Repair

Q: How to install the valve rocker arm cover?
A:
After applying sealant at the cylinder head to the lower intake manifold joints, you need to install a new gasket to the valve rocker arm cover and the valve rocker cover. Then you need to tighten the valve rocker arm cover bolts. After that, you can install the PCV foul air tube, the PCV foul air tube clip, the PCV foul air tube bolt, the engine mount strut bracket, and the thermostat bypass pipe.

Q: How to remove the valve rocker arm cover?
A:
After removing the thermostat bypass pipe and the engine mount strut bracket, you need to remove the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) foul air tube bolt, the PCV foul air tube clip, and the PCV foul air tube. Then you need to loosen the valve rocker arm cover bolts, remove the valve rocker arm cover, and trim the valve cover and sealant away. Then you need to remove the valve cover gasket and clean the sealing surface on the cylinder head with a degreaser.
