Q: How do you remove the power brake booster?
A:
You need to apply the parking brake and block the wheels, disconnect the inlet hose, the steering gear, and the return hoses from the booster assembly and remove the master cylinder to hydraulic booster nuts and set the master cylinder aside in the engine compartment, the stop lamp switch, the 4 boosters to bulkhead nuts, the booster assembly and the gasket.

Q: How do you remove the vacuum brake booster?
A:
You need to apply the parking brake, deplete the vacuum reserve in the vacuum booster by applying the brake pedal 3 times or until the pedal becomes firm and remove the electrical connectors for the DOD sensor and the active booster connector, the vacuum hose from the check valve, the 2 master cylinder nuts, the retaining clip for the pushrod, the stop lamp switch and the pushrod from the brake pedal, the brake booster mounting nuts, the brake booster and remove and discard the brake booster gasket.

Q: What is the Hydraulic Brake Booster Calibration procedure?
A:
With a scan tool connected to the vehicle, check for any DTCs. If there are any DTCs current, diagnose and correct DTCs before proceeding. Next, you need to apply the throttle pedal to attain 3000 RPM, release the throttle pedal, apply and hold the brake pedal firmly for approximately 1 second, release the brake pedal, and perform this step 3 times. With the scan tool, navigate to the °data display° for the EBCM and observe the °HBB Calibration Status° parameter. It should display °complete/success°. If not, repeat HBB Calibration.

Q: What is the master cylinder reservoir filling procedure?
A:
You need to visually inspect the brake fluid level through the Brake Master Cylinder reservoir. If the brake fluid level is at or below the half-full point during routine fluid checks, the brake system should be inspected for wear and possible brake fluid leaks. If the brake fluid level is at or below the half-full point during routine fluid checks, and an inspection of the brake system did not reveal wear or brake fluid leaks, the brake fluid may be topped off up to the maximum-fill level. If brake system service was just completed, the brake fluid may be topped off up to the maximum-fill level. If the brake fluid level is above the half-full point, adding brake fluid is not recommended under normal conditions. If the brake fluid is to be added to the master cylinder reservoir, clean the outside of the reservoir on and around the reservoir cap before removing the cap and diaphragm.
Q: What special tools will I be needing when bleeding the hydraulic brake system (pressure)?

You will be needing a diaphragm pressure bleeder, or equivalent, and a brake pressure bleeder adapter.
