Q: How do you install the relay rod?
A:
You need to install the relay rod to the vehicle, connect the pitman arm ball stud to the relay rod and the idler arm ball stud to the relay rod and install the new pitman arm prevailing torque nut, the new idler arm prevailing torque nut, the inner tie rod ends, the steering damper to the relay rod and the engine protection shield and then check the wheel alignment.

Q: How do you remove the relay rod?
A:
You need to remove the engine protection shield, the steering damper from the relay rod, the inner tie rod ends, the idler arm ball stud nut, and the pitman arm nut. Next, you can disconnect the idler arm from the relay rod using the J 24319-B and the pitman arm from the relay rod using the J 24319-B, remove the relay rod from the vehicle and inspect the threads on the tie rod ends for damage, the ball stud threads for damage and the ball stud seals for excessive damage and then clean the threads on the ball studs.
