You need to remove the tire and wheel, support the lower control arm, remove the wheel hub and bearing assembly, disconnect the outer tie rod to the Steering Knuckle, remove the brake hose bracket retaining bolt from the steering knuckle, the upper control arm retaining nut and separate the upper ball joint from the steering knuckle using the J-42188-B and the lower control arm retaining nut, separate the lower ball joint from the steering knuckle using the J 43631 and the J 45851 and remove the steering knuckle.

You need to remove the lower intermediate Steering Shaft.

You need to make an indentation 10 mm (0.4 in) from the bottom of the tube using a centerpunch, clamp the Shock Absorber in a vise horizontally with the shock absorber rod completely extended, and drill a hole in the shock absorber at the centerpunch using a 5 mm drill bit. Next, you can make an indentation in the middle of the tube with a centerpunch, drill a second hole in the shock absorber at the centerpunch using a 5 mm drill bit, remove the shock absorber from the vise and hold the shock absorber over a drain pan horizontally with the holes down and move the rod in and out of the tube to completely drain the oil from the shock absorber.
