Q: How to remove the Body Control Module (BCM)?
A:
You need to ensure the ignition switch is in the OFF position first, then remove the right front hinge pillar trim panel, disconnect the body wiring harness electrical connector from the BCM, release the fastener retaining the body wiring harness electrical connector to the BCM, next remove the 2 fasteners retaining the BCM to the hinge pillar, remove the BCM from the hinge pillar by unlocking the integral tab, and remove the BCM from the vehicle.

Q: How to remove the Vehicle Communication Interface Module (VCIM)?
A:
You need to position the right rear seat bottom to a cargo position, then ensure the ignition switch is in the OFF position, remove the service panel located on the right side of the instrument panel (I/P), and disconnect the VCIM electrical connectors as necessary, next remove the screw retaining the VCIM to the bracket, release the tab on the bracket, remove the VCIM from the bracket and the vehicle.

If replacing the VCIM, you should record the 10-digit STID number and the 11-digit ESN number from the labels on the new module.
