The scan tool monitors the following components: CKP sensors activity, Camshaft position (CMP) signal activity, and Engine coolant temperature (ECT) (If the engine coolant temperature is not warm enough, idle the engine until the engine coolant temperature reaches the correct temperature.).

Q: How to install the crankshaft position sensor?
A:
You may need to lubricate the O-ring with clean engine oil and replace the O-rings if damaged, install the CKP sensor to the block, install the CKP sensor nut and tighten the nut to 11 N.m (97 lb in), then connect the CKP sensor electrical connector.

Q: How to remove the crankshaft position sensor?
A:
You will need to disconnect the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor electrical connector, remove the CKP sensor nut, remove the CKP sensor from the engine, then inspect for wear, cracks, or leakage if the CKP sensor is being reused.
