You must route the wires up against the steering column. One wire harness strap will surround one lead from the coil to the steering column. The other wire harness strap will surround all leads to the steering column.

Q: What should be done before coiling the Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil?
A:
Be sure that the wheels on the vehicle are straight ahead. The block tooth of the steering shaft assembly is in the 12 o'clock position and the ignition switch is in the LOCK position.

Q: How do I install the Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil?
A:
Align the block tooth on the upper shaft to the 12 o'clock position. Install the wave washer to the steering column upper shaft and align the SIR steering wheel module coil with the horn tower on the turn signal cancel cam. Install the pre-centered SIR steering wheel module coil to the steering column upper shaft and remove the centering tab. Lastly install the steering wheel module coil retaining ring, a wire strap around the wire harness assembly, wire harness straps to the wire harness assembly, and the steering column trim covers. Enable the SIR system.

Q: How do I remove the Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil?
A:
First, you will need to disable the SIR system, next remove the steering column trim covers, the wire harness assembly from the wire harness strap, the wire harness straps from the wire harness assembly, the wire harness strap from the upper tilt head assembly, the SIR steering wheel module coil retaining clip, the SIR steering wheel module coil and the wave washer from the steering column upper shaft.
