Q: How to remove the Power Vacuum Brake Booster?
A:
First, you need to remove the left side instrument panel insulator panel and lower the steering column assembly and support the column without disconnecting the steering column from the intermediate shaft. Then, please disconnect the brake pedal position sensor electrical connector, remove the vacuum brake booster pushrod retaining clip, disconnect the vacuum brake booster pushrod from the brake pedal pivot, and remove the vacuum brake booster pushrod bushing, the vacuum brake booster pushrod wave washer, the cross vehicle brace and disconnect the master cylinder fluid level sensor electrical connector. You also need to remove the master cylinder nuts and position aside the master cylinder and support it with heavy mechanics wire or equivalent. Then, please remove the air inlet grille panel, remove and position aside the surge tank without disconnecting the hoses, disconnect the vacuum brake booster check valve and hose assembly and position aside, install the J 22805-B to the vacuum brake booster and secure with the master cylinder nuts, use a flat-bladed tool to depress the locking tab toward the cowl, rotate the J 22805-B and vacuum brake booster counter-clockwise to release the vacuum brake booster from the bracket. Finally, you should pull the vacuum booster forward slightly and support the vacuum booster to access the booster pushrod retaining clip, compress the vacuum brake booster foam filter to access the vacuum brake booster retaining clip, disconnect the brake booster pushrod from the booster by releasing the retaining clip, remove the vacuum brake booster and remove the vacuum brake booster pushrod through the dust boot from inside of the vehicle, if necessary.

First, you need to assemble the power brake booster pump sleeves to the insulators, install the power brake booster pump insulators, position the power brake booster pump to the bracket, and secure the electrical harness connector. Then, please install the power brake booster pump bolts and nuts, the power brake booster pump, and the power brake booster pump bracket bolt and nut. Finally, you should connect the power brake booster pump electrical connector, connect the power brake booster pump hose from the auxiliary pump and install the power brake booster pump hose quick-connect.
