First, you need to remove the bolt and washer assemblies from the wheel drive shaft, wrap a shop towel around the wheel drive shaft, and place the wheel drive shaft horizontally in a vise. Then, please use a side cutter or other suitable tool to remove the large boot clamps from the inner joint boot, remove the boot from the joint, and remove and discard the grease cover from the joint. You also need to remove the grease from the face of the joint inner race, cage, balls, etc., use snap ring pliers to remove the joint race retaining ring, and hold the inner joint horizontally to the wheel drive shaft. Finally, you should position the brass drift on the inner race and strike the brass drift with a hammer to remove the inner joint assembly from the wheel drive shaft, remove the boot from the wheel drive shaft, and clean the inner and outer race, the cage and the wheel drive shaft exposed end with clean solvent, air dry all of the parts.
