Q: How to remove the Power Steering Gear Inlet Pipe/Hose (with Rear Wheel Drive)?
A:
First, you need to remove as much power steering fluid from the remote power steering fluid reservoir as possible, remove the power steering pump pulley and the front air deflector, place drain pans under the vehicle, separate the lower intermediate steering shaft from the steering gear, separate the steering linkage outer tie rods from the steering knuckles, and separate the lower control arms from the steering knuckles. Then, please disconnect the power steering gear inlet hose fitting from the power steering pump, remove the power steering gear inlet pipe bracket bolt, disconnect the power steering gear inlet hose plastic retainer from the power steering gear inlet pipe clip bracket, remove the power steering gear inlet hose bracket bolt, and support the front frame with jack stands. Finally, you should remove the left and right side engine mount bolts from the front frame, disconnect any electrical harnesses from the front frame, disconnect the power steering gear solenoid electrical connector, remove the front frame bolts, lift the vehicle on the hoist until there is enough room to remove the steering gear from the vehicle and remove the power steering gear inlet hose from the vehicle.
