Q: How to perform the Power Steering System Bleeding?
A:
First, you need to fill the pump reservoir with fluid to the minimum system level, full cold level, or middle of the hash mark on the cap stick fluid level indicator. If the vehicle is equipped with hydro-boost, you should fully charge the hydro-boost accumulator, apply the brake pedal 10-15 times, and turn the engine OFF. Then, please raise the vehicle until the front wheels are off the ground, key on engine OFF, turn the steering wheel from stop to stop 12 times, and verify the power steering fluid level per operating specification. Finally, you can start the engine, rotate the steering wheel from left to right, check for signs of cavitation or fluid aeration (pump noise/whining) and verify the fluid level.
