You may need to align the shift control knob to the shift lever, attach the shift control knob to the shift lever and an audible sound will be heard when the internal clip is fully seated, then shift the transmission into Park and release the parking brake.

01/11/2022Q: How to remove the Transmission Control?
A:
You will need to lift up the console trim plate, remove the BTSI pin cover, release the shifter out of the park, remove the console trim plate, remove the transmission range selector cable terminal, remove the transmission range selector cable, disconnect the electrical wire harness connector from the shift control, remove the shift control fasteners, then spread the console side panels apart and remove the shift control assembly.
