You should raise and support the vehicle, remove the exhaust system and the drive shaft, support the transmission with a suitable jack, remove the transmission mount assembly and the transfer case, use the J 45000 to remove the seal, use care to avoid scraping or gouging the output shaft bushing, lubricate the seal with clean transmission fluid and use the J 38693 to install the seal.

Q: How to remove the Transmission Output Shaft Seal (Rear Wheel Drive)?
A:
You should raise and support the vehicle, remove the exhaust system and the drive shaft, support the transmission with a suitable jack, remove the transmission mount assembly, install the propeller shaft flange holding fixture J 45012, remove and discard the propeller shaft flange nut, remove the propeller shaft flange, be careful not to scrape or gouge the case extension housing while removing the output shaft seal and use the J 45000 to remove the output shaft seal from the case extension housing.
