2008 Cadillac SRX Oil Filter Adapter

You should install the oil pan drain plug and new O-ring seal, lower the vehicle, install the new Oil Filter cartridge, lubricate the oil filter cap threads with clean engine oil, install the oil filter cap and the oil fill cap and fill the engine with the appropriate oil type and quantity.

You should remove the engine front cover and the power steering hose retainer from the air conditioning (A/C) compressor bracket, disconnect the intermediate steering shaft, remove the engine mount lower nuts and the A/C compressor bracket bolts and reposition aside, drain the engine oil, remove the transmission oil cooler pipe retainer from the engine right side, install the engine support fixture, tighten the support fixture wing nuts to provide clearance for the Oil Pan and remove the front differential carrier and the oil pan.

You should turn the ignition off, remove the oil level indicator from the oil level indicator tube and the oil level indicator tube bolt, raise the vehicle, remove the knock sensor and the heat shield clip from the oil level indicator tube, lower the vehicle, note the location and orientation of the secondary (small square) heat shield and remove the oil level indicator tube up through the exhaust manifold.
