You should make sure the intermediate steering shaft seal is seated correctly and then install the intermediate steering shaft seal from the inside of the vehicle and the steering column.

Q: How to remove the Intermediate Steering Shaft - Center?
A:
You should turn the steering wheel so that the front wheels are pointing straight ahead and the ignition lock cylinder to the lock position and remove the key, insert anti-rotation pin J 42640 into the steering column access hole to lock the steering column, remove the left front tire and wheel assembly, the center intermediate steering shaft bolt and the lower intermediate steering shaft bolt, disconnect the lower intermediate steering shaft from the steering gear and the center intermediate steering shaft from the upper intermediate steering shaft, remove the center intermediate steering shaft from the vehicle with the lower intermediate steering shaft attached and the center intermediate steering shaft bolt and disconnect the center intermediate steering shaft from the lower intermediate steering shaft.

Q: How to remove the Intermediate Steering Shaft Seal?
A:
The steering column is removed with the upper intermediate steering shaft attached and you should remove the steering column and the intermediate steering shaft seal from the inside of the vehicle.
