You should carefully clean the throttle body mounting surfaces of any gasket and/or seal material, install the throttle body and new gasket, the throttle body bolts, the wiring harness conduit, the throttle body electrical connector, and the air cleaner intake duct, perform the throttle learn procedure and clear all diagnostic trouble codes.

A:
You should turn the ignition off, remove the air cleaner intake duct and the throttle body electrical connector, unlock and reposition the wiring harness conduit and remove the throttle body bolts and the throttle body and gasket.

02/11/2022Q: How to service the Idle Learn Procedure?
A:
You should ensure the above conditions are met before performing this procedure, avoid performing this procedure if a throttle position (TP) sensor or other throttle actuator control (TAC) system diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) are set other than P2176. Then, you should turn off the ignition for 30 seconds, turn on the ignition, with the engine off for 60 seconds, turn off the ignition, turn on the ignition, with the engine off and clear the DTCs with a scan tool.

02/11/2022Q: How to inspect and clean the Throttle Body?
A:
You should remove the air cleaner intake duct, fully open the throttle valve to inspect the throttle body bore and the throttle valve plate for any deposits, avoid subjecting a throttle body assembly, use a clean shop towel and top engine cleaner GM P/N 1052626 or equivalent product to clean the throttle body bore and the throttle valve plate and then install the air cleaner duct.

02/11/2022Q: What do we need to note when we handle the Idle Air Control Valve?
A:
If the IAC valve has been in service, you should not push or pull on the IAC valve pintle and the force required to move the pintle may damage the threads on the worm drive. Otherwise, you should not soak the IAC valve in any liquid cleaner or solvent, as damage may result.
