The proper way is to remove the wheel hub, bearing, knuckle, and brake shield as an assembly, remove the brake shield, remove the wheel hub from the wheel bearing, remove the special tools from the knuckle, remove the retaining ring from the knuckle, and then remove the special tools from the knuckle.
