A:
Place a NEW Exhaust Manifold gasket onto the cylinder head. Position the exhaust manifold to the cylinder head. Apply thread lock GM P/N 12345493 (Canadian P/N 10953488) to the exhaust manifold bolt threads. Install the exhaust manifold bolts.
Q: How do you gain clearance to remove the muffler?
A:
Remove the lower shock absorber nuts and bolts. Remove the right rear leaf spring nut and bolt. Wedge a block of wood between the frame and the rear axle.
Q: What is the installation procedure for the Exhaust Pipe Heat Shield?
A:
Position the exhaust pipe heat shield to the floor panel studs. Install the 4 nuts securing the heat shield to the floor panel. Lower the vehicle.
