Q: How to disassemble the ring gear and differential housing?
A:
You can remove the ring gear bolts the ring gear, the right side bearing from the differential, the differential case bolts, the left output shaft and gear from the left case, the left clutch pack from the left case, the C-clip, the gear, the right-side gears, side gear washers, and output shaft and gear, the output shaft retaining ring and output shaft and the right clutch pack from the right case.

You should install the differential assembly, install 4 M8 x 1.25 bolts, the J 42168-1, the J 42168-9 and thumbscrew, the J 42168-11, bearings and spacer, J 42168-2, and bolt, the pinion housing/cage assembly and the pinion housing/cage bolts.

A:
You can install the bearing onto the pinion shaft, assemble the pinion shaft, spacer, and bearing into the housing/cage, press the bearing onto the pinion shaft, install the nut onto the pinion shaft, and then stake the areas of the nut into the notches at the end of the pinion shaft.

Q: How to assemble the ring gear and differential housing?
A:
You can install the right clutch pack to the right case, the right output shaft into the side gear, the right output shaft and gear, pinion gears, and washers. And then you can compress the Bellville washer and clutch pack to install the cross pin to the right differential case. You can install the gear to the left output shaft, the C-clip to the left output shaft, the left side bearing to the differential, the left clutch pack to the left case, the left output shaft and gear to the left case, the case bolts and the right side bearing to the differential.

A:
You can install the differential assembly, the 4 M8 x 1.25 bolts, the J 42168-1, the J 42168-9, the J 42168-11, the pinion housing/cage assembly, measure the distance between the DT-48009 and the J 42168-1, add the B2 value to the B3 value for the proper pinion housing shim thickness and then select shims equal to the calculated value.
