Q: What shouldn't be done when installing the transmission fluid cooler hose/pipe quick connect fitting?
A:
You should not reuse any of the existing oil lines or oil line fittings if there is excessive corrosion or reuse any of the existing retaining rings that were removed from the existing quick-connect fittings. You shouldn't manually depress the retaining clip when installing the plastic cap.

The proper way is to raise and support the vehicle, position a drain pan under the vehicle, remove the transaxle oil cooler hoses from the transaxle oil cooler fittings, and remove the transaxle oil cooler fittings from the transaxle.
