Q: How do you install the Throttle Body Assembly?
A:
You can install a NEW throttle body gasket to the intake manifold, align the tab of the gasket with the notch in the manifold, install the throttle body, bolts, and nuts, connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector to the electronic throttle control, install the air cleaner outlet duct, connect a scan tool, operate the accelerator pedal, monitor the throttle angles, start the engine and inspect for coolant leaks.

A:
You can turn the ignition ON and the engine OFF with a scan tool, perform the Idle Learn Reset in Module Setup, start the engine, monitor the TB Idle Airflow Compensation parameter, clear the DTCs and return to the diagnostic that referred you here.

A:
You can start and idle the engine in PARK for 3 minutes, monitor desired and actual RPM with a scan tool, turn the ignition OFF for 60 seconds, start and idle the engine in PARK for 3 minutes, clear DTCs and return to the diagnostic that referred you here once the engine speed has returned to normal.

02/11/2022Q: How do you clean the Throttle Body?
A:
You can remove the air cleaner outlet duct, inspect the throttle body bore and the throttle plate for deposits, open the throttle plate to inspect all surfaces, clean the throttle body bore and the throttle plate using a clean shop towel with GM Top Engine Cleaner, P/N 1052626, or AC-Delco Carburetor Tune-Up Conditioner, P/N X66-P, or an equivalent product and install the air cleaner outlet duct.

A:
You can remove the air cleaner outlet duct, disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector from the electronic throttle control, remove the throttle body nuts and bolts, remove the throttle body, and remove and discard the throttle body gasket.

A:
You should not push or pull on the IAC valve pintle, because the force required to move the pintle may damage the threads on the worm drive. Also, you should not soak the IAC valve in any liquid cleaner or solvent, as damage may result.
