Q: What are the valve stem oil seal and valve spring installation procedures?
A:
First, place the oil seal over the stem until the seal begins to contact the valve guide, and use the J 42863 to install the valve stem oil seal over the valve guide. Next, install the J 38606 on the valve spring, install the valve spring/cap, install the valve locks, and release the valve spring. After that, install the spark plug, install the push rods, and the valve rocker arms. Finally, install the left/right valve rocker arm cover.

14/12/2021Q: What are the valve stem oil seal and valve spring removal procedures?
A:
First, remove the left/right valve rocker arm cover, remove the valve rocker arms/push rods, and remove the spark plug. Next, install the J 23590 to the spark plug port, and install the J 38606 on the valve spring. After that remove the valve locks, remove the valve spring/cap, and remove the valve stem oil seal. Finally, inspect the valve spring for any damage.
