Q: How do I install the Air Conditioning Compressor Belt (V8)?
A:
You should position the belt behind the rear face of the balancer and off of the A/C pulley, install the belt installation tool onto the balancer, slide the belt installation tool upward, install the belt onto the belt installation tool, slide the belt installation tool downward, positioning the belt onto the A/C pulley, applying light tension to the belt, position the lower portion of the belt with the ribbed area facing forward, rotate the crankshaft pulley in a clockwise direction while using finger pressure to pull the belt forward, ensure that the ribbed area of the belt remains facing forward and the belt aligns properly to the A/C pulley, inspect the drive belt for proper installation and alignment, rotate the balancer and additional 360 degrees to ensure proper belt installation, install the skid plate and install the accessory drive belt.

You can not use belt dressing on the drive belt. Belt dressing causes the breakdown of the composition of the drive belt. Failure to follow this recommendation will damage the drive belt.

Q: How do I remove the Drive Belt-Accessory?
A:
You should open the hood, remove the air cleaner outlet duct, install a breaker bar with a hex-head socket to the drive belt tensioner bolt, rotate the drive belt tensioner clockwise, remove the drive belt from the pulleys and the drive belt tensioner, release the tension on the drive belt tensioner, remove the breaker bar and socket and from the drive belt tensioner bolt and clean and inspect the belt surfaces of all the pulleys.

Q: How do I install the Drive Belt-Accessory?
A:
You should route the drive belt around all the pulleys except the idler pulley, install the breaker bar with a hex-head socket to the belt tensioner bolt, rotate the belt tensioner clockwise to relieve the tension on the tensioner, install the drive belt under the idler pulley, release the tension on the belt tensioner, remove the breaker bar and socket from the belt tensioner bolt, inspect the drive belt for proper installation and alignment, install the air cleaner outlet duct, start the vehicle and inspect the drive belt for proper operation and close the hood.
