Q: How do I remove the Valve Lifter Oil Filter?
A:
You should remove the intake manifold, disconnect the engine harness electrical connector from the oil pressure sensor, remove the oil pressure sensor and washer, remove and discard the valve lifter oil filter, and remove and discard the valve lifter oil filter O-ring seal.

Q: How do I remove the Valve Lifter (RPOs LC9, LH9, LMG, LY5, L76)?
A:
You should remove the cylinder head and gasket, remove the valve lifter guide bolts, remove the valve lifter guides with the lifters, remove the valve lifters from the guide, and organize or mark the components so that they can be installed in the same location from which they were removed and clean and inspect the valve lifters.

Q: How do I install the Valve Lifter Oil Filter?
A:
You should install a new valve lifter oil filter O-ring seal into the valve lifter oil manifold, install the NEW valve lifter oil filter, apply sealant GM P/N 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480) or equivalent to the threads of the oil pressure sensor, install the oil pressure sensor washer and sensor, connect the engine harness electrical connector to the oil pressure sensor and install the intake manifold.

Q: What should be cautioned in replacing Valve Lifter Oil Manifold?
A:
You should remove only the outer gasket from the manifold. You can not disassemble any of the internal components of the manifold in an attempt to remove the 8 inner sealing gaskets. If the inner gaskets are cut or damaged, you should replace the manifold as an assembly. Only use a wire-cutter-type tool to minimize the amount of debris. And you can not use a rotary-type cutting tool on the retaining straps.

Q: How do I install the Valve Lifter (RPOs LC9, LH9, LMG, LY5, L76)?
A:
You should lubricate the valve lifters and engine block valve lifter bores with clean engine oil, insert the valve lifters into the lifter guides, install the valve lifters and guide to the engine block, install the valve lifter guide bolts and install the cylinder head and gasket.
