Q: How to remove the Transfer Case Motor/Encoder (TrailBlazer, Envoy, Rainier)?
A:
First, you need to remove the fuel tank shield, disconnect the motor/encoder electrical connector, and remove the motor/encoder assembly. Then, please position the motor on a workbench, release the 4 tabs that retain the motor/encoder plastic baseplate and discard the old baseplate/gasket. Finally, you should gently lift the motor/encoder rotary position sensor from the motor shaft, and disconnect the rotary position sensor from the wiring harness.
