FAQ for Fuel Line Repair

Q: What is the fuel line chassis (LF1/LLT) installation procedure?
A:
First, pull the right side transmission support down, install the EVAP hose to the fuel filter bracket, install the fuel bracket bolt and tighten to 9 Nm. Next, install the fuel/brake bundle to the underbody, install the chassis hose/pipes into the retainers located at the forward portion of the rail, and connect the fuel feed pipe and the EVAP hose to the fuel bundle. Finally, connect the evaporative emission purge line to the purge solenoid, connect the fuel feed pipe to the fuel rail, and install the fuel pipe retaining clip.

Q: What is the fuel line chassis (LF1/LLT) removal procedure?
A:
First, relieve the fuel system pressure, remove the fuel pipe retaining clip from the fuel pipe, and disconnect the fuel pipe from the fuel rail. Next, disconnect the evaporative emission purge line from the purge solenoid, and disconnect the fuel pipes from the fuel filter. After that pull the locking mechanism outward, and open the retainers located at the forward portion of the rail to remove the chassis hose/pipes. Pull downward to disconnect the fuel/brake bundle chassis pipe retainer from the underbody, remove the bolt securing the fuel filter bracket to the body, and remove the EVAP hose from the fuel filler bracket. Finally, pull the right-side transmission, and carefully guide the chassis fuel hose/pipes down through the engine compartment.
