First apply a small amount of high-temperature brake lubricant to the park brake shoe contact areas, install the front park brake shoes, install the front park brake shoe hold-down spring, and install the rear park brake shoe. Next install the rear park brake shoe hold-down spring by compressing the spring, install the park brake shoe adjuster, and install the upper park brake shoe retainer spring.

Q: What is the parking brake shoe replacement removal procedure?
A:
First, remove the tire/wheel assembly, remove the rear brake rotor, and retract the park brake shoe adjuster to ease removal. Next, remove the upper park brake shoe retainer spring, remove the park brake shoe adjuster, remove the rear park brake shoe hold-down spring, and remove the lower park brake shoe retainer spring. Finally, remove the front park brake shoe hold-down spring, remove the front park brake shoes, and clean the rear brake backing plate.
