Q: How do I install the brake shoe?
A:
Start with cleaning off the drum brake backing plate, then apply high temp lubricant to the drum brake backing plate shoe surfaces, Install the lower brake shoe return spring, place the primary brake shoe to the drum brake backing plate and connect the spring and then install the return spring, separate the brake shoes apart slightly and install the shoe adjuster, install both hold down pins and the brake shoe spring and cup. Install the lever and the spring to the lever, adjust the drum brakes and install.

Q: How do I remove the brake shoe?
A:
Start with removing the brake drum, the brake adjuster actuator lever spring and lever, the brake shoe hold-down spring, and the cup and pins, separate the top of the brake shoes apart slightly and remove the shoe adjuster, upper brake shoe return spring. Now rotate the primary brake shoe toward the wheel hub assembly. Release the brake from the return spring, then remove it, Compress the park brake cable return spring and release the park brake cable fitting from the park brake apply lever and remove the brake shoe.
