You can set the park brake, chock the wheels, verify the transmission range select lever is in the park position and that the transmission manual shift lever is in the park position, pull the retaining collar forward, release the range select cable adjuster clip, slide the two halves of the range select cable together, depress the adjuster clip, pull both halves of the range select cable in opposite directions and then check the transmission range select lever in all gear selections.

You can remove the control valve body cover, disconnect the input and output speed sensor electrical connectors, disconnect the shift position switch electrical connector, remove the 4 control valve body bolts M6 x 80, position the control solenoid valve spring to the side, and remove the 2 control valve body bolts M6 x 65, the control valve body bolt M6 x 42, the 3 control valve body bolts M6 x 95, the control valve body bolt M6 x 55, the control solenoid valve body and Transmission Control Module (TCM) assembly and the control solenoid valve assembly filter plate.
