Q: How do I install the Hood Primary Latch Release Cable?
A:
You will need to transfer the string to the end of the new hood release cable and route the string and the cable into the passenger compartment. Remove the string, seat the hood release cable grommet into the cowl, and then connect the cable to the hood release handle. Install the carpet retainer, and pull the string and the cable into the engine compartment. Remove the string and install the cable from the hood latch. Lastly, install the hood latch.

Start with removing the hood latch, and next disconnect the hood release cable from the latch. Remove the carpet retainer and disconnect the hood release cable from the hood release handle. Tie a piece of string around the hood release cable to help with installation. Remove the hood release cable grommet from the dash panel. Note the routing of the cable and remove the hood release cable from the vehicle.
