The procedure is to open the hood, remove the upper fascia support, mark the position of the latch to the body, remove the hood latch bolts, disconnect the hood release cable from the hood latch, remove the side trim panel retainers, the hush panel from the instrument panel, the knee bolster from the instrument panel and the hood latch release cable handle bolts, tie the wire or string to the end of the hood release cable, and then remove the grommet from the engine compartment into the passenger compartment, the hood release cable from the instrument panel and the wire or string from the hood release cable.
