Q: How to refinish the Brake Drum?
A:
You need to use a micrometer to measure the largest diameter of the brake drum. Then you need to thoroughly clean the rust from the brake drum flange. After that, you need to refinish the brake drum and use 120-grit aluminum oxide sandpaper to create a non-directional braking surface. Finally, you need to clean the braking surfaces with GM P/N 12377981 (Canadian P/N 10953463) or equivalent brake parts cleaner.
