Q: How to install the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor?
A:
You need to apply thread sealer GM P/N 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480) or equivalent and thread the ECT sensor into the cylinder head by hand. Then you need to tighten the ECT sensor and install the ECT sensor electrical connector to the camshaft cover. After that, you need to connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector to the ECT sensor electrical connector. Finally, you need to refill the cooling system.

Q: How to remove the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor?
A:
You need to partially drain the cooling system to a level below the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor. Then you need to disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (1) from the ECT sensor electrical connector. After that, you need to remove the ECT sensor electrical connector from the camshaft cover. Finally, you need to remove the ECT sensor from the cylinder head.
