Q: How to remove the Crankshaft Position Sensor?
A:
You need to raise and support the vehicle, and disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector from the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor. Then you need to remove the CKP sensor bolt. After that, you need to remove the CKP sensor from the engine block. Finally, you need to discard the O-ring seals.

Q: How to install the Crankshaft Position Sensor?
A:
You need to install new O-ring seals to the CKP sensor, and lightly lubricate the O-ring seals with clean engine oil. Then you need to install the CKP sensor into the engine block, and add sealer GM P/N 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480) to the CKP sensor bolt threads. After that, you need to install the CKP sensor bolt and connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector to the CKP sensor. Finally, you need to lower the vehicle and perform the crankshaft (CKP) system variation learn procedure.
