Q: How to install the Front Output Shaft Seal?
A:
You need to install the new front output shaft seal into the transfer case, install the yoke flange to the front output shaft, and lubricate the new yoke flange O-ring seal with transfer case fluid. Then you need to install the yoke flange O-ring seal and install a new yoke flange nut. After that, you need to attach the J 8614-01 to the yoke flange and stake the yoke flange nut in 2 places. Finally, you need to install the front propeller shaft and fill the transfer case fluid.

Q: How to remove the Front Output Shaft Seal?
A:
You need to drain the transfer case fluid, remove the front propeller shaft, bend the stakes out on the yoke flange nut, and loosen the yoke flange nut. Then you need to remove the yoke flange nut, the O-ring seal, and the front output yoke flange, and you need to lightly tap a flat-bladed screwdriver around the edge of the front output shaft seal. Finally, you need to pry the front output shaft seal from the transfer case.
