FAQ for Hood Lift Support Repair

Q: What is the proper way to remove a hood assist rod?
A:
Provide alternate support to the side of the hood latch/hinge where the assist rod is being removed so the hood does not fall or cause damage to the vehicle. The hood assist rod is removed by removing the metal clips at the end of each rod holding it in place. Once the clips are removed you must unhook the assist rod from the stud.
