Air leaking from a tire is caused by many factors such as particles getting in between the tire and the wheel where the bead seats. Another factor for leaking tires is corrosion on the wheel itself which is causing surface imperfections allowing air to be leaking.

To install and reprogram the tire pressure monitor you must install new tire/wheel assemblies, reprogram the control modules for the new tire/wheels, reset tire type and pressure, and set the inflation pressure of each tire.

Aleaking wheel will require the wheel and tire to be removed from the vehicle. You will need to locate the leaking area and look to see if the wheel is bent or if it's a bad tire. If you determine the leak is coming from the wheel area, you will need to dismount the tire from the wheel. The rim will need to be scuffed so that the affected area is fixed. Apply tire silicone or sealant to the wheel where the affected area was repaired and mount the wheel back on the tire.

Before getting a wheel balanced it is important to check for missing balance weights, bent rims, tire wear, bead seating, stones in the tire tread, and tire irregularities.

Spare tires are different than other tires because they fit in the storage room with ease and don't weigh as much. Even though the spare tire has a size difference they travel the same distances as other tires and should not cause any concerns.
