Flasher unit principleThe flasher unit has two types of flasher units, one functions by a piece of wire that stretches out and shrinks when the current heats it up. The bimetallic strip can be found easily since it makes a lot of noise when it is operating correctly. The other unit is controlled by a transistorized circuit, the transistorized type does not make a sound and can be tested which makes it difficult to maintain the flasher in good working order.
