A lowering kit allows the user to adjust the height of the vehicle. The kit includes a variety of components. Depending on the suspension it can include struts, shocks, and rear shackles.

It is a great tool to lower a vehicle since some cars come with such a huge gap they look like they are made for rough terrain. With the kit, you can see the difference in the gap and stance of the vehicle.
Lowering springs are part of the suspension and are designed to lower the vehicle stance once installed. The lowering kit and springs are a direct replacement for OEM coil springs. Once the spring is installed the stance is long-lasting. You may be able to adjust a couple of things but not the ride height.
Common problems with a lowering kitThe lowering kit can cause the vehicle to have trouble clearing a road obstacle, the tires may rub, and extra stress may be put on the suspension components.
