Customer Questions & Answers

Q:
My Pathfinder only has 2 of these offset bolts. One per strut. The bottom bolt on each strut is a standard straight bolt. Also the offset bolts have a washer on the bolt head end with a tab indicating when the bolt is lined up correctly to remove it. Does the replacement bolt have this washer with the indicator tab? and what is the purpose of having an offset bolt? I imagine it is a failsafe if the nut some how came loose. Finally, what is the torque spec on this bolt and why does my Pathfinder only have one per side and a standard bolt in the lower mount?

A:
I'm not certain how to answer this question accurately. From what it SOUNDS like, there is an incorrect bolt somewhere. you should have TWO (not one) 40056-0W000 per strut at the bottom by VIN. The offset bolts with washer sounds like alignment bolts for the control arm. Again, without seeing the vehicle, I'm speculating as to what the Nissan parts catalog is showing per your VIN build. As far as torque specs, I am unable to provide those due to liability issues.
