When checking the left and the right side caster, the right side minus the left side must be equal within 0 degrees to 2.0 degrees. When setting the left and the right side caster, the right side minus the left side must be equal within 0.50 degrees to 1.50 degrees. When checking the camber, it must be equal to 1.0 degrees. When setting the camber, it must be equal to 0.50 degrees.

Q: How to check for a misaligned or damaged axle housing?
A:
You can inspect the following components including the springs, the spring hanger, and shackle, and the rear axle for misalignment or damage and replace, tighten all rear axle components to specifications, place the vehicle on an alignment machine, measure the camber of the rear wheels that the camber should be 0.03 degrees negative to 0.05 degrees positive, measure the toe-out of the rear wheels and the toe-out should be 0-0.05 degrees or 0-1.58 mm (0-1/16 inch). If the measurements are not within specifications, the body or frame rails may be misaligned or damaged. If the frame, the springs, and the springs attaching points are within specification, the rear axle assembly must be replaced.
