2004 Cadillac Escalade EXT Valve Cover

You should not reuse the valve rocker arm cover gasket. If the PCV valve grommet has been removed from the rocker cover, you should install a NEW grommet during assembly.

You need to remove the engine sight shield and the Connector Position Assurance (CPA) lock, disconnect the main electrical connector, remove the harness clips, reposition the engine harness, remove the spark plug wires, and reposition the surge tank/heater hoses. You also need to remove the heater hose bracket nut and bracket, the ignition coil bracket studs, the ignition coil bracket, and the Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) hose, loosen the valve rocker arm cover bolts, remove the valve rocker arm cover, remove and discard the old gasket, remove the oil fill tube, clean and inspect the rocker arm cover.

The procedure is to twist each plug wire 1/2 turn and pull only on the boot to remove the wire from the ignition coil.
