FAQ for Cooling Fan Motor Repair

Q: How do you replace the electric cooling fan motor?
A:
You can remove the fan shroud assembly, turn the fan motor drive plate in the opposite direction of the arrow, remove and discard the fan blade, center punch each of the rivets from the rear of the motor, drill the head of the rivets from the fan motor, tap the rivets out of the fan shroud, remove the fan motor and remove the tape covering the entry points from the fan motor.

Q: What is the proper way to install the electric cooling fan motor?
A:
You can install the engine cooling fan motor, the cooling fan motor bolts, the cooling fan motor nuts, and the new engine cooling fan blade, turn the fan motor drive plate in the same direction as the arrow, rotate the cooling fan blade, and install the fan shroud assembly.
