Q: How to remove the Shock, Shock Component, and/or Spring?
A:
You should use care when handling the coil springs to avoid chipping or scratching the coating, raise and support the vehicle, remove the tire and wheel and the shock module from the vehicle, install the shock module into the spring compressor, mark the upper control arm assembly and insulator for proper installation, turn the spring compressor forcing screw, remove the magnaride sensor nut, the shock absorber upper retaining nut and the shock absorber from the shock module, loosen the compressor forcing screw until the upper mounting plate and coil spring may be removed and remove the upper control arm bracket assembly, insulator and coil spring from the spring compressor.

Q: How to remove the Shock Module Yoke?
A:
You should raise and support the vehicle, remove the tire and wheel, the shock to yoke retaining nut, and the shock to yoke retaining bolt, remove the pressure on the bolt and the yoke to lower control arm retaining nut, separate the yoke from the lower control arm and remove the yoke from the vehicle.

Q: How to remove the Shock Absorber?
A:
You should remove the trim panel, move the sound insulator away from the shock tower, disconnect the electrical connector for the F55 suspension if equipped, remove the upper shock mounting nuts, raise and support the vehicle, disconnect the automatic level control air line from the shock for F55 suspension, if needed and remove the lower shock mounting bolt and the shock from the vehicle.

A:
You should raise and support the vehicle, remove the tire and wheel and the shock yoke, disconnect the suspension position sensor link rod from the upper control arm, remove the upper control arm to the steering knuckle nut, use the J 24319-B to separate the upper control arm from the steering knuckle, lower the vehicle, disconnect the damper coil harness connector of vehicles equipped with ESC and remove the shock module upper mounting bolts and the shock module from the vehicle.

Q: How to service Shock Absorber Disposal?
A:
You should make an indentation 50 mm (2 in) from the top of the tube, make an indentation 25 mm (1.0 in) from the bottom of the tube, clamp the shock absorber in a vise horizontally with the shock absorber rod completely extended, drill a hole in the shock absorber at the centerpunch using a 5 mm (3/16 in) drill bit, drill a second hole in the shock absorber at the centerpunch using a 5 mm (3/16 in) drill bit, remove the shock absorber from the vise, hold the shock absorber over a drain pan horizontally with the holes down and move the rod in and out of the tube to completely drain the oil from the shock absorber.
