The proper way is to remove the timing belt, remove the engine cover, remove the valve cover bolts, remove the valve cover and gasket, remove the camshaft cap bolts gradually and in the sequence shown for each camshaft cap, and then remove the exhaust camshaft.

The proper way is to install the intake camshaft, install the exhaust camshaft caps in their original positions, install the intake camshaft gear, and then install the timing belt.
