FAQ for Rocker Arm Repair

Q: How do you install the Valve Rocker Arm and Push Rod?
A:
You need to lubricate the rocker arms and pushrods with clean engine oil, the flange of the rocker arm bolts with clean engine oil, and the flange or washer surface of the bolt that will contact the rocker's arm. You can install the rocker arm pivot support, the pushrods, and the rocker arms and bolts and rotate the crankshaft until the number one piston is at the top dead center (TDC) of the compression stroke. In this position, the number one cylinder rocker arms will be an off-lobe lift. Then you can rotate the crankshaft 360 degrees and install the number one cylinder spark plug and the rocker arm cover.
