FAQ for Brake Master Cylinder Reservoir Repair

Q: How to remove the master cylinder reservoir?
A:
You should use a suitable tool to remove and discard the brake fluid from the master cylinder reservoir and remove and position aside the radiator surge tank without draining the coolant or removing the hoses. If equipped with the master cylinder heat shield, you should remove the master cylinder heat shield nuts, the master cylinder heat shield bolt, and the master cylinder heat shield, disconnect the brake fluid level indicator switch electrical connector, remove the master cylinder reservoir bolt, lift the master cylinder reservoir upward to release the reservoir from the reservoir seals and the master cylinder and remove the 2 master cylinder reservoir seals.
